The Pros Of Outdoor Pooltables

So what is an yard pool table, what makes it good enough for using out-of-doors? Well primarily it is the same as whatever other pool table, only the body and cloth are treated to care for against wind, sun, rain and cold. The body is either pressure treated wood, as in the decking on your veranda or fibreglass which is all weatherproof. The cloth is treated with a Simonise type process so it repels water. ( I’ve seen the cloth put under a tap and the water just runs off and the cloth is dry to the touch subsequently – remarkable) Other than that everything else is the same as any other table you will find in your local pub, using the same balls and cues as you would in a bar or pool hall.

Also they are a slate bed pool table which means the playing surface is made from slate, so they will last years. The only thing that may occur is the cloth colour will get faded over time after exposure to the sun. To prevent this, always cover the table when you are not using it.

The playing experience will be similar to a pub pool table only there is plenty of moving space being in the open on the patio and you don’t have to think about if you have opportunity in the house or not. A couple of the tables also come with extra table tops and benches so your pool table can double as a picnic table when you have guests etc. very convenient. Also the wooden variants of the outdoor table can be harmonized to the colour of the stain on your decking, so it will intermix pleasantly.

When not in use say in the wintertime , the outdoor pool tables need to be covered to block leaves and other autumn remains getting onto your table. Usually they come with heavy-duty covers that can be attached to the legs to secure them until they are used again next spring. A really useful bit of back yard furniture don’t you think?
